At divergent boundaries, faulting occurs and the subsequent crust depression is filled with water to form oceans.

This movement leads to the formation of continents, oceans, and mountain ranges by processes such as collision, divergence, and uplift. For example, the Himalayas formed from the collision of tectonic plates, while ocean basins are created at divergent boundaries.
