How do we multiply each expression, 6 (h-4)?
In multiplying expressions, multiply the coefficient which is outside the parenthesis by each term inside the parenthesis. For example, in the expression mentioned above, 6 (h-4), the answer is 6h – 24.
If you remember BODMAS process, you can never go wrong in Math. BODMAS is a formula saying:
B -- Remove the Brackets
O -- ‘Off’ means multiply
D -- for division
M -- for multiplication
A -- addition
S -- subtraction
To multiply the expression 6 ( h − 4 ) , distribute 6 to both terms inside the parentheses. This results in 6 h − 24 .
